THE GOVERNOR'S VISIT
THE GARDEN PARTY. The Pukekura Park Board and the' Recreation Sports Ground committee, who are working conjointly in the arrangement of the garden party for Thursday afternoon, for the entertainment of His Excellency the Governor, met last night. Reports were very favorable concerning the interest evinced in the function, and it was stated that the floral items on the programme would be well contested, and, as usual, very pretty. The Boy Scouts had promised to give a display of ambulance work and signalling, the ambulance display including a pre-arranged bicycle accident and the "repairs" to the victim. The secretary will endeavour to arrange with the Garrison Band to give its band contest march. This, of course, would be excellent practice for the band, and of no insignificant attractiveness to the general public and the friends of the band.
