THE MANAWATU MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. The seventh annual meeting of the Manawatu Rille Association commenced on Saturday. Firing conditions were trying, but some splendid shooting \vas done. The competitors included tho champion, Halliday, and ex-champions King and Hyde. Linton match.—Rfm. Lumsden (Sandon) £2 10s, Pvt. Govenlock (Woodville) £2 10s, Sergt. Frank (Nelson) £2 10s, and Rfm. Feast (Opaki) £1 tied with 50 points each. Rfm. Judd (Karon) won the Oroua match with 07; Sergt. Frank (Nelion) £2 10s, <IS; Pvt. Loveday (Woodville) £2, 03; Rfm. Lumsden (Sandon) £l, 03; Rfm. King (Opaki) £l, 03.

The Manawatu match was won by Pvt. Griggs (Palmerston Rifles) £4, 09; Pvt. Loveday £3, 68; Pvt. Craw (Linton) £2, 08; Sergt. Dalziell (Palmerston North Guards) £2, 68; Rfm. Clark (Rangitikei) £l, 67; Rfm. Halliday (Karori) £l, 67.

In matches 2 and 3 in the Grand Aggregate, the five prizes wore won by Pvt. Lumsden (Sandon) 180, champion gold medal and £2; Sergt. Dalziell (Palmerston North Guards) 179, gold and silver medal and £1 10s; Rfm. Judd (Karori) 179, silver medal and £1; Rfm. Claw (Linton) 178, 10s; and Sergt. Frank (Nelson) 177, 10s.
