LITTLE MAORI DROWNED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Saturday. A Maori girl named Polly Pcnekupa, aged 3 years, was drowned in the Waikato river, near Huntly. A sister went for a swim, leaving the child asleep on the bank. When she returned she found the child had fallen into two feet of water and had been drowned.
DROWNED WHILE BATHING. Greymouth, Last Night. A young man named Lester, a carpenter, 24 years of age, was drowned this afternoon when bathing in the surf. He was in company with several companions, who did their utmost to rescuu him, but lie was carried out to sea.
