CANADA AND THE STATES, By Gable —Press Association—Copyright. New York, January 20. The negotiations with reference to reciprocal trade arrangements between Canada and the United States have been adjourned for a week, the adjournment being necessary to allow submission to the respective Governments of the outlines of the agreement which lias been reached. There will be no official statement on the matter before the close of the negotiations.

THE CONFERENCE CONCLUDES. THE RUMORED AGREEMENT. Received 22, 5.10 p.m. New York, January 21. To-day's conference ends the reciprocity negotiations between Canada and the United States. The Washington Press announces that an agreement has been reached, and there will be a substantial reduction in duties on several natural and manufactured products of both countries. It is understood that Canada lowers the export duties on wood puVp, and the United States is to admit Canada's farm products. The rumored withdrawal of the wheat duties is not believed by Canadian millers and wheat growers.
