Mr. Dann vig, Fisheries Expert, in his report, elnims that trawling experiments were highly satisfactory, and proved that fish were so abundant in some localities as to be easily delivered at central depots at a very low rate. A QUEENSLAND CLAIM. Received 20, 8.10 p.m. Brisbane, January 20. Queensland claims from the Commonwealth £540,000 in the shape of ten years' interest on transferred properties. QUEENSLAND NATIONAL BANK. Received 20, 8.10 p.m. Brisbane, January 20. The net profits of the Queensland National Bailie last year were £40,174, whereof £41,000 was carried to the contingency account. £IOOO to the depositors' repayment fund, and £SOOO to reserve. A further ninepence in the pound was written off the original deposit receipts, making 4s fid so repaid. COMPULSORY CONFERENCE. _ Received 20. 8.10 p.m. Melbourne, January 20. January 20. .At the hn'f-'-enrb- meeting of th" Commercial nankin" Comnanv at Svdney a profit of £Kv'V>fH was shown, and a 10 per cent, dividend declared: £40.000 added to the reserve, and £37,503 carried forward. The City Bank pars a dividend of four per cent,., and £IOOO is added to the reserve, £IOOO being written off the premises account.
