DUXEDIN WOOL SALES. By Telegraph.—Tress Association. Dunedin, Last Night. Tlie principal wool sale of the season was -held to-day, when 22,139 bales were offered, as against 24,171 i bales at the corresponding sale in 1910. Buyers were perhaps not so numerous as at former sales, and buyers for the various woollen mills in New Zealand did not compete so keenly as usual, as many of them had already almost filled their requirements. It had been expected that the uncertainty of the Horai market would be reflected here, but trrc result proved to be worse for the growers than had been anticipated. Competition in general was exceedingly irregular, in fact, some experts declare that in this respect this sale has had no parallel in an experience extending over very many years. Continental representatives were not such keen buyers. Medium halfbreds and pieces, and bright light crossbreds met with brisk sale, and in some instances realised the prices reached at the December sale. The difference in values as compared with the December sale was as follows: Merinos, Vad to %d per lb lower; super half-bred, Id lower; medium to good, half-bred, y s d to %d lower; inferior half-bred, y 2 d to %d lower; super crossbred, par to y a d lower; good crossbred, Id lower; inferior crossbred, Id lower; pieces, Id lower.
