MEETING OF UNITY TENT. The adjourned quarterly meeting ot the Unity Tent was held on Tuesday evening. There was a fair attendance of members. One candidate was initiated.

The Tent surgeon, Dr. Walker, applied for leave of absence to visit England. This was granted, and Dr. Black-

ley was appointed joint Tent surgeon, with Dr. Milroy, deputy Tent surgeon. The following resolution was carried unanimously: ''That the Tent desires to thank Drs. Walker and Blackley for past services, and to express its appreciation of the cordial relations which have always existed between the members and the Tent surgeon and his deputy." The quarterly and annual balancesheets were read, and showed steady progress in each fund, the balance to the credit of the sick fund being nearly £2OOO.

The following officers were then elected: Past Chief Ruler, Bro. E. Smith; Chief Ruler. Bro. Bert J. Clark; secretary, Bro. Edwin Cliattcrfcon; treasurer, Bro. John Buttimore; levite, Bro. Walter H. Hughes; guardian, Bro. J. D. Roch; cash steward, Bro. Philip Hopkins; auditors, Bros. W. Ambury and P. Hopkins. Business relating to the District Council meeting to be held in Napier, commencing on February 7, was then considered. Bros. B. J. Clark, J. Buttimore, and E. C'hatterton were appointed delegates to represent the local Tent.
