HOW CHAMPAGNE IS MADE
THE WORKERS' RESENTMENT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 20, 12.10 a.m. Paris, January 19. The Morning Post's Paris correspondent states that vine dressers and womenkind were dissatisfied over the scarcity of work due to the champagne districts importing wines from non-cham-pagne districts, and giving them the main characteristics of the genuine invalid, Achille, and Pernor's champagne. In the cellars at Damory 7000 bottles, 2000 litre casks, and 40 double hectolitre butts were smashed. A dray load of 2000 bottles was thrown into the Marne. The damage amounted to £4OOO.
