INGLEWOOD NEWS.

((From Our Own Correspondent.) The Waitara Bijou Minstrels gave a performance in the parish hall on Friday. There was a fair audience, which would doubtless have been larger had the affair been more conspicuously advertised. Those who were present enjoyed a treat, the performance being of a high standard throughout. The whole thing went with a swing and verve which is new to minstrel entertainments, and there is little doubt that, should the management see its way to visit this town again, a much larger audience will roll up.

I. understand Messrs. Weston and Weston have purchased the corner section opposite the Inglewood Hotel from Mr. J. Gibbs. Messrs. Peterson Bros, have removed to Pennington Buildings, next Smart Bros., and Mr. B. Clough has taken possession of their late premises. I understand that it is probable he will also occupy Mr. Whitehead's shop after the 21st inst,, when the latter retires from business.

A special meeting of the Borough Council will be held to-night to decide the half-holiu'ay question. The Inglewood bowlers play five rinka from the Waitara Club on Thursday on the local green. Bowling matters are very lively just now, and the tournament is being looked forward to with keen interest.
