ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
FELL FROM A TRAIN. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Greymouth, Wednesday. J. Finera, caretaker of the Waltham School, Christchurch, while standing' on the platform of a carriage on the Otira express last night, slipped and fell. He was found by a surfaceman, and taken to the hospital suffering from shock and bruies. He is progressing satisfactorily.
A SHOOTING AFFAIR. Invercargill, Last Night. The police were informed to-night that at Wairoto, near Otautau, a man named Walter Galbraith had fired two shots at a young woman, Kate Thomas. 'The matter is being enquired into, but there is no further news.
