Bates' summary and forecast: The weather has been generaly warm and fair;, though hazy and, cloudy at times. The winds have been variable, those irom the north predominating, and generally moderate, but a moderate gale was experienced in Wellington early this morning. Present indications are for moderate to strong ■westerly winds generally, and squally at times in Cook and Foveaux straits, Warm, fair, and hazy weather will probably prevail, though cloudy at times in various parts of the country. The barometer will probably fall slowly everywhere.
