Xewspap'rs express the opinion that the team is becoming more accustomed to the Australian conditions, and now has a chance of winning the rubber. The South African News considers that the third test was one of the most interesting testsfcin living memorv. The tension was maintained throughout, and the nerve and endurance of both sides was severely tested. The Cape Times states that the match stands as a record for many years, and must have been enervating. The writer notes the consistency of the South African batsmen, who were hitherto most inconsistent, and thinks that the complete success of the tour is now assured, though it is too much to expect to win the next two tests. _ Tho Natal Mercury declares that the South Africans have retrieved their reputation and proved themselves worthy to participate in the triangular matches. The Advertiser says tho match has given the South Africans an indisputable claim to a place in the frouj, rank of cricket.
