The first race for the Xorthcote Cup between the yacht Cuhvalla 11, representing New South Wales, and the Killara, of Victoria, was postponed on ac-' count of the rough weather. The Culwalhi was at the post, and Mr. Marks, the owner, was prepared to sail. He now refuses the contest, and is returning to Sydney.
