RIFLE SHOOTING
RIFLES v. GUARDS. A match was fired between the Taranaki Rifles and Guards, eight men a side, at 200, 500, and GOO yards on Thursday, resulting in a win for the Rifles by the narrow margin of five points. The weather was perfect, and the aggregate scores a record for Taranaki. The top scorer for the winners was Private Arnold, with 101, closely followed by Private Marett, 100.
