ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
KILLED BY ELECTRICITY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Friday. John Burns, employed on the Harbor Board's dredge Vulcan, was electrocuted this morning. Deceased with another workman was engaged in repairing the spiral pipe line. It appears that Burns, when climbing the derrick to fasten the tackle, caught hold of the electric wires above, which conveyed a current of £OOO volts to the dredge. He was killed instantaneously. His hand and one thigh were badly burned. Deceased was aged 29 years, and leaves a widow and three children.
