PEARY'S RECORDS ACCEPTED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 13, 9.20 p.m. New York, January 12. The Congressional Committee lias concluded the Peary investigation. Several members expressed the opinion that the records had not been faked. An expert geadetic surveyor examined Peary's documents, and testified that in last March the explorer must have passed within one mile of the actual Pole. HONOR FOR THE EXPLORER. Received 14, li a.m. New York, January 13. The Congressional Committee has approved of Peary's claim that he reached the Pole, and the recommendation of the committee suggests that the thanks of the Congress be awarded Lieutenant Peary, together with the rank of rearadmiral, retired. It is expected that there will be a lively debate in Congress on the committee's proposals.
