Pichon declared that the understanding with Great Britain was never closer. There was not a single question whereon the two countries were not in complete necard, both striving to make a pacific situation prevail, Nothing had occurred, in Europe to modify the French allwnces and friendships. The entente with England would continue under King George as under the late King Edward, whose memory would be ever dear. The Bagdad Railway pourparlers at Potsdam were the sequel to negotiations which had been in progress since 1907. He added that Kerr Hollweg had summed up the result as a declaration that Germany and Russia would not enter into any combination conceived in a spirit of aggression against other Powers, , . .. p.
