(From Our Own Correspondent.) Waitara, Last Night. For the month of December the Waitara Dairy Co. received 1,089,5421bs ol milk, from which 23 1 /, tons of butter were made. The milk showed an increase of close on a quarter of million pounds, and butter, an increase of 5% tons against the corresponding period of last year. Suppliers receive £1072 2s 2d as against £1315 0s 3d, an increase of £G4S 10s Id. The average test for the month was 4.13, a figure that will take some beating. The amount of milk money paid out by the Waitara and North Taranaki companies for the month of December amounted to £3SOO 14s 2d. MAGISTRATE'S COURT. In the S.M. Court to-day, before Mr. H. S. Fitzherbert, S.M., Leonard Copestake was fined 10s, and £1 10s costs, for an assault on an aged Maori. Judgment by default was given in the cases of Tascoe Bros. v. H. 11. Martin, claim £8 3s Bd, costs 20s; same v. A. D. McDonald, claim £lB 8s 2d, costs 235; same v. T. McMasters, claim £1 15s, costs ss. A further adjournment of the case Stead v. Wilkes, claim £lO4 19s, was granted to next court day. To-day's floral fete in aid of the Fire Brigade funds was a most successful and enjoyable affair.
