THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast:—Rain has fallen in the southernmost districts, but the weather has been warm and hazy in most parts of the country. Moderate to strong easterly winds have prevailed in the far north and easterlies about Cook Strait, and variable winds elsewhere. A gale is reported this evening at Farewell Spit. The barometer has been unsteady, but with a falling tendency everywhere. Present indications are for a change in weathe'r conditions, increasing haziness and humidity preceding 'unsettled and cloudy weather generally, and a falling barometer, ' especially in the north. Strong northerly winds are probable north of Westport and Kaikoura, and south-easterlies elsewhere.
