DISTRICT NEWS
WAIONGONA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Haymaking is now in full swing throughout the district, and some good crops are being cut. Farmers are realising the benefit to be derived from using fertilisers. One farmer who treated his hay paddock to some basic slag for this season, informs me that he has just got double ns much hay as he did last year, and this despite the fact that his paddock was shut up much later. There was a good muster of calves on Tuesday to be inoculated. These animals are now worth money, and consequently the slaughter of the innocents is not so pronounced as in former years. It would be interesting to note what effect this has had on the sale of calfskins.
Our new creamery has quite justified its erection, and the supply of milk is considerably over the quantity guaranteed. The tests arc remarkably uniform, ranging from 3.0 to 4.
