Truscott, a wealthy oil magnate, quarrelled with 1). S. Neeley, another oil magnate, at a hotel at Caney, Kansas, and Truscott shot Neeley dead. He was arrested and released on hail. A dispute over a valuable oil lands claim started the trouble.
