It is reported that twenty-six mutineers undergoing imprisonment died of •sunstroke while repairing the defences of the island of Cobras, and that nineteen others .succumbed to siiAocation in the prison cells.

Thirteen prisoners, including the anarchist assailants of Presidents Quintania and Alcorta, escaped by boring a tunnel under the prison wall. Several sentinels have been arrested.
