DEATH OF A FARMER. Palmcrston N., Friday. Wm. Waugh, who had been engaged in farming pursuits in the Manawatu during the past forty years, was found in an unconscious condition outside his gate at 0 o'clock this morning, and died while being taken to the hospital. PAINFUL CIRCUMSTANCES. Christchurch, Last >fight. Henry Dunning, aged 07, formerly employed by the Christchurch City Council, died in the hospital late last night. The circumstances attending his admission to the institution are somewhat painful. Dunning, who occupied a small cottage in a lane off Madras sfreet, was on the 14th inst. found lying in his yard, apparently very ill, by two neighbors. They informed the police, and the man was removed to the hospital. He was found to be suffering from appendicitis, and peritonitis set in, causing his death. Dunning lived alone, and it is possible that had he sought assistance a day or two earlier his life would have been saved.
