METROPOLITAN UNION IN DIFFICULTIES. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Received 5,. 10.40 p.m. I Sydney, January 5. I Mr, Swanncll, secretary of the Metropolitan Rugby Union, has resigned, and Mr. Hill, secretary of the New South. Wales Union, will do the work of both bodies. This is because the Metropolitan Union is in financial straits. The Sun newspaper says' this is a sign that the talons of the League have sunk deeply into the vitals of the Metropolitan Union.
