THE AUCKLAND TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph.—Proes Asedciation. Auckland, Thursday. In the North Island Bowling Association's tournament at Auckland next week forty-three North Island and one South Island club will be represented in the pennant match, forty clubs participate in the. pairs, and in the full rink match there will be ninety-eight teams. Over four hundred bowlers will take part in the tournament

NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. The "progressive" match commenced on Tuesday for trophies donated by the vice-presidents, Messrs. T. Avery ana Collins, was continued yesterday on the New Plymouth green. Results:— Binnie, Jenkinson, Govett, Penn (skip) beat Waugh, Wood, C. Rtmdle, McKellar (skip) by 14 to 9. The winners were in turn defeated by Bradbury, Wood (substitute for R. A. Gray), W. Rundle, and S. Bundle (skip), the scores being & —G. S. Bundle and Wood then played Bradbury and W. Rundle, the former conceding 9 points. The game, which was of 21 heads, resulted in favor of S. Rundle and Wood by 30 to 24.

The Inglcwond travelling team played Patea on Monday, and in a four-rink match were defeated by 121 to 77. At Wanganui they had a win by 83 to 73.

Waitara sent three senior rinks and a beginners' rink to Stratford on Monday, and won a close match by 108 to 165. The Stratford seniors were too good for the visitors, winning by 24, but the Waitara colts were 27 up. Colonel Collins, T. 5.0., V.D., late president of the Northern Bowling Association; Mr. A. J. Keith, vice-president; and Mr. J. Boberts, acting-secretary, left for Auckland yesterday by the Main Trunk express, to hold a conference with a number of delegates from Auckland clubs in respect to the alteration of the association's constitution providing for the formation of centres. The association's tournament commences in Auckland on Monday next, and concludes on the following Friday.
