" By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Thursday. A fire last night destroyed the stable at Ellerslie occupied by the racehorses Merrigee and Blue Mountain. The latter was rescued, but Merrigee, & promising two-year-old colt, perished in the flames. Merrigee was owned and trained locally, and was to have been shipped home to-day.
