MEBAN'S BODY IDENTIFIED. fty Gable—Press Association—Copyright. Wellington, Last Night. This morning the police found a notebook and cash amounting to £1 2s Bd, which belonged to the man Patrick Meban, who was burnt to death in the fire at Wcllesley boarding-house on Tuesday morning. The book was lying near the head of Meban's bed. There was also an envelope, which indicated that a letter had been posted to the deceased from Camlough, Ireland, on July 3, 1001), auurcssed "Mr. Patrick Meban, care of Mr. J. Craig, Riversdale, Ahura, Greymouth." This letter bore the mark of the (ireymouth Post Office, dated August 19 last. Amongst others, there was an entry, "Andrew MeLintock, Lyall Bay, Maranui, N.Z." The body has been definitely identified by Mr. MeLintock, of Marunui, as that of Patrick Meban. Meban was only 21 years of age, and he came from Drunsmough, Carmough, Ireland, where he went to school with MeLintock, in whose company he was on Sunday. Jackson, the lessee of the premises destroyed, had his fittings and effects insured in the Yorkshire Office for £390, and Mrs. Jackson bad her personal property insured in the same office for £IOO. j
