DAIRY PRODUCE EXPORT
THE TAINUI SHIPMENT. The fortnightly contract steamer, the Taiia i, which left for London on Friday, took a big shipment, of dairy produce, nearly sixteen hundred cases of cheese being sliut out owing to the insufficiency of cool-storage space available. The shipment comprised 50,732 boxes of butter and 14,313 cases of cheese, made up as follow.— Butter Cheese Boxes. Crates. Auckland 24,344 499 New Plymouth 14,802 2079 Patea 5008 5041) Wellington 13,712 • 53<HS Lyttelton 1740 090 Totals 50,732 14,313 The Corresponding shipment, of last season, that of the Athenic, which left on December 31st, took 54,140 boxes of butter and 10,403 crates of dieese. The Tainui's shipment of cheese is less, but it did not include any Otago and Southland consignments. However, the general output of cheese will probably show no advance on that of last season, owing to the drought experienced in Otago.
