Results:— Men's champion singles.—First round: W. Griffiths beat Dr. Bennett, C—3, 4—G, C—i; F. M. ,B. Fisher beat H. Anderson, G —o, G—2; H. W. Brown beat F. Wilson, 6—3, 6—l. Men's champion doubles.—First round: Griffiths Bros, beat Bennett and Anderson, 6 —2, 3 —6, G —o; F. M. B. Fisher and G. Smythe won by default from M. Wiffen and 0. Prouse.
Ladies' singles championship. —First round: Miss E. Travers beat Miss E. ledger, 6—3, 6—2; Miss R. Wellwood beat Miss Thomson, G—l, 6—l; Miss Baird beat Miss D. Bell, 6—l, 6—l. Ladies' doubles championship.—First round: Misses Brewster and Simpson beat Misses Maginnity and Bell, 6—l, 4—6, 6—2; Misses Butter worth and Ledger beat Mrs. Menlove and Mrs. Van Asche, 6—l; 6—2.
Combined doubles championship.— First round: Miss Baird and H. Parker beat Mrs. Waddy and H. Anderson, 6—5, 6—2; Miss K. Nunelley and H. A. Brown beat Mrs. C. P. Hulme and L. Griffiths, 6—o, 6—l. Men's handicap singles, first grade.— First round: Crewes beat .Dr. Bennett, 70—57; H. Brown (owes 10) beat M. Wiffen (20), 70—65; F. M. B. Fisher (owes 20) beat G. Griffiths (20), 94—75; G. Didsbury (5) beat E. F. Wilson (10), 70—65; Maddox (38) won by default from Peacock (owes 20). Men's singles, second grade.—First round: J. Horton (IS) beat S.
