THE WEATHER.

t SUMMARY AND FORECAST. j* By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates? j summary and forecast: —The weather has been changeable, and rain has fallen about Cook Strait, with squally southwesterly winds as well, the area of low pressure which passed in the south on Wednesday night being followed by moderate to strong westerly and southerly winds generally. Present indications are for a temporary rise in barometeric pressure, and fair weather generally, though in parts cloudy and unsettled at times. The winds will probably increase shortly from the southward, and change to northerly after from about 24 to 36 hours, and then increase, especially southward of New Plymouth and Napier.
