Arch Boxsey, an American, established a world's flying record at Los Angelos, reaching a height of 11,470 feet (2 miles QlO feet). He was given an ovation by a crowd of 80,000 people who. had followed his descent. In ascending, Hoxsey was faced by a fortymile gale. Latham was hurled into a gully, and his monoplane wrecked, but he escaped unhurt.
Radley, an Englishman, holder of the world's speed record, will compete on Tuesday for £IOOO in a match race.
