TURKISH OPPRESSION
ALBANIAN DEMAND FOR AUTONOMY. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Sofia, December 27. Two thousand armed Albanians, in reply to the Turkish offer of amnesty, demand the teaching of the national language in schools, removal of the embargo on newspapers, the establishment of agricultural banks, that Government officials shall be Albanians, and that the taxes shall be expended in Albania alone. This is the first explicit Albanian demand for autonomy, and is traceable to the Young Turkish Party's policy of repression and denationalisation.
