A MURDEROUS RETALIATION. By Cable —Press. As'sociatiaa—Copyright Brisbane, December 24. The steamer Prinz Sigismund' has arrived from Japan, via German New Guinea. She reports that the steamer Germans arrived at Rabaul (New Britain) unexpectedly on November 30, bringing news of an outbreak of natives on the island of Ponape and the murder of four whites named Boder, Benaekmann, Hollborn arid Hafjier, and a native crew. The outbreak was caused by the punishment of a native employed at road-making for disobedience. Steps are being taken to punish the murderers.
