WOMAN'S WORLD
(Conducted by "Eileen"). Concert.—Last Tuesday evening, in St. Mary's Hall, Mr. X. Renaud's pupils gave a most delightful concert. The programme was opened by a duet by Misses Z. and F. Bayly, which was attractively performed. Miss Deacon was received with tremendous applause, her playing being more keenly appreciated than ever. Since her severe illness (her eyes) she has had to memorise; probably that is why, if anything, there is more soul in her music, and her technique more delicate. The playing of Misses Mabel Evans and Beryl Hurst showed that we have some excellent talent coming on. Among the vocalists were Mrs. Stubbs and Miss Grant; both have very pleasing voices. Mr. C. H. Weston also contributed two songs. His baritone voice being well above the average, one wonders why he has not been before a New Plymouth audience earlier.
