TIMARU ITEMS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Tiniaru, Last Night. The Harbor Board to-day decided to take charge of the fog signal to be supplied by the Marine Department at Patiti Point, about a mile and a half south of the harbor, where the reefs run out some distance. The wife of Mr. J. S. Rutherford, a well-known station owner at Albury, died this morning. Extensive preparations are being made for the motor and rowing boat races and various acquatic sports here on Monday. About a score of motor-boats are now used in the fishing industry, C. E. Hohvay, will compete at the South Canterbury Caledonian sports at Xew Year. The rain ten davs ago made a wonderful improvement in the harvest and the prospects of the lamb fattening season. •Fair average crop yields are now anticipated. _,
