SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Bf Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast: —Fair though heavy weather has prevailed over the North Island to-day, but it has become cloudy and unsettled in the south, and showers are reported about Foveaux Straits. The barometer rose in the north, but has fallen steadily in the south. Present indications are for the development of a westerly storm area, probably enveloping the whole country, in the next 30 hours. Increasing cloudiness will probably be followed by rain shortly. Northerly winds rising everywhere, especially in and southward ot Cook Strait. The barometer will probably fall everywhere, and will be low in the south. A southerly gale and rising barometer may be anticipated about Monday evening.
