In a lengthy denunciatory address he condemned Australian morals. "I deplore the decrease of innocence amongst the young people of the Commonwealth," the speaker said, "'and men say this is 'progress.' To-day the knowledge young people possess, without mature judgment and discrimination, is proving the downfall of thousands." Mr. AYatson said that the marriage of to-day in Melbourne was only a marriage of convenience. Xo wonder society was beins undermined with sin, and that social evils were becoming more apparent dailv. "There is a false standard of living among the young men and women of Melbourne," he said. "They live on bread and dripping in order to wear fine clothes."
