It is many years since she spent Christmas out of gaol. OAT CROP ESTIMATED. Received 23, 12.15 a.m. Sydney, December 22. The Government Statistician estimates the oat crop at 1,820,000 bushels from 253,329 acres. Last year the yield was 1,900,580 bushels from 271,110 acres. AN ISLAND EARTHQUAKE. Received 23. 12.15 a.m. Sydney, December 22. The steamer Makambo brings news of a severe earthquake iri 'the island of Santo on November 13th. A store and other buildings were wrecked, and the natives -"Were greatly alarmed, but no Jives were lost.
