WOODVILLE JOCKEY CLUB. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Woodville, Wednesday. 1 The Woodville Jockey Club made a profit of £l9l over last meeting, notwithstanding the fact that the Government tax amounted to £3lO. The additional tote tax at last meeting came to £l3O. The stewards have decided to ask the totalisator proprietors to pay Mrs. Treweek on the three tickets wrongly issued to her at the meeting last Feburarv, and which were the subject of the Parliament inquiry.

METROPOLITAN COMMITTEEA meeting of the Taranaki Metropolitan Committee was held on Tuesdayl night. Present: Messrs. C. M. Lepper (chairman), Hempton, Thomson, W. C. Weston, L. B. Webster, Blundell, Orbell, Ellis, and Standish. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs. N. King, 0. W. Sole, and L. A. Nolan. The Egmont Racing Club's programme for its February meeting was approved.' Licenses were issued to the following trainers: —John Clareburt and. T. Carson; jockeys,- C. Pearce, E. George, R. J. Milne, C. A. T. Smith (apprentice), H. Goldfinch (apprentice), John Clareburt, John M'lntosh; gentlemen riders, J. E. Curtin, Leonard Elliott, W. F. Tattersall, N. A. Brown, Pohi Tito, R. J. Jillett, F. Aubrey, and W. IT. Gray. The disqualification was Temoved from Leonard Kemp (who appeared before the committee) for having ridden at Miramar unregistered meetings during the year 1908, and a jockey's license was granted to him. TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. The meeting then sat as the committee of the Taranaki Jockey Club. Transfer of the mare Mississippi (5 years, Nestor—Kowhai), from Charles Baer to A. T. Lake was granted. Mr. A. Kerr, of Waitara, was eleet«d a member of the club. Mr. W. • G. Malone wrote resigning from the membership of the club. The matter of ploughing the cqurse proper at the conclusion of the February meeting was discussed, and it wss decided to leave the matter in the hands of the course committee, with ■ Messrs. Thomson-and Birdling, to report to the next meeting.
