STEAMSHIP OWNERS' TROUBLES
SEAMEN'S WAGES DISPUTE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, December 21. The official statement regarding the deadlock over seamen's wages declares that if the Arbitration Court awarded an increase of wages, shipowners would undertake that such an increase should be made retrospective from January 1 next, and similarly, if a reduction were made. The Federal Council of Seamen's Unions will decide to-day what action shall be taken.
