The many friends of Mr. Fred Hardy, will be pleased to learn that his condition has much improved during the last few ; days. Mr./ Mrs. and Miss May Curtis returned to Inglewood mi Friday evening after a holiday trip through Australia. Miss Ivy Curtis remains in Wellington for a few days. Mr. Eustace Lane) representative of the Crown Tenants on the Hawke's Bay, Land Board, announces himself as a candidate for the Hawkc's Bay seat at the next election. He will stand in Independent and Labor interests. Mr. E. Parrott, Mayor of Eltham, followed Mr. Stanners, the previous Mayor, in more ways than one. Like Mr. Stanners, he is to be presenter! with a silvdg cradle, in honor of the birth of h# son during his term of oflice. Mr. R. McNab has given the constituency in Hawke's Bay which wished him to pledge himself to'contest the seat at the next general election, definitely to understand tlr.it for various circumstances, he dues not see his way to give such a pledge (says the "Manawarr Standard.")
