ANNUAL MEETING AT WAIMATB. By Telegraph.—Prasj Association. Wuimate, Last Night. The annual conference of the New Zealand Christian Union, belonging t» ' the Australasian Students' Christian! Union, an undenominational body witk branches in all universities and many, secondary schools in Australasia, is nowbeing held in Waimate, South Canterbury. On Friday evening the conferenca opened with a foreword by Dr. MacLaren, missionary secretary. A civia welcome followed.

The daily programme is as follows: 7.30, prayers; 9 to 10. Bible study on the Holy Spirit; 10.15 to 11.15, address; 11.30 to 12.30, discussion of a problem in the year's work; afternoon, free foe study and recreation; 7.30 to 8 p.m., intercessory prayer; 8 to 0, address;: 9 to 9.20, devotional meditation. Owing to the fine situation of Wai< mate, and the hospitality of the towns* people, the students are thoroughly enjoying themselves. The conference ig very successful, and promises to be in every way—and in particular for its deep intensity—a memorable gathering. Tliia movement among the students, the future leaders of the country, is a most important one, and full of promise fori the church. i
