STRATFORD DAY BY DAY
(From Our Own Correspondent). Stratford, Saturday.
Mrs. Joseph Richardson died at her residence on the Opunake road this
morning. I (hear that it is anticipated that the A. and P. Association will show a profit of £3OO or £4OO over the recent show. The following will represent the Stratford Bowling Club at the North Island Association's tournament: Messrs. F. and O. Jackson, R. McK. Morrison, W. H. Ryan, G. Sangster, N. J. Kins, McDonald and E. Smart. A local resident, for a wager, pulled a. lorry, with a load of 5 cwt., from the Bank to Warwick road. The death is announced of Miss Nellie Jones, of Midhirst. Deceased, who was nineteen years of age, had been in illhealth for some time.
The rain of the past few days has been of great service to the dairy farmers, coming just when it was needed. It is computed "that on '"milk cheque dav" this month over £20,000 will be paid out in Stratford.
