THE SCHOOL CONCERT. Jl (From Our Own Correspondent.) 'ftl With the coming of the festive andjjjH holiday season, comes also the usual ;|s| round of school concerts. The Inglewoodjjaj School concert was held on evening, and was an unqualified succesg?|W Although the weather was threatenin&|B| the house was packed to the At about 8 o'clock a troupe of Japa--;jS nesedots appeared before the audience,;•s■ and rendered the chorus, "The Fan," in a most dainty and bewitchingi; manner. The next item was supplied by ; s the cadets, who went through their) and physical drill exercises wiflhv military precision. Another action t "Pickles," was also well given.,by the| junior boys of the school. "The d'oeuvre of the first part of the prW; gramme, however, was the display ofij; horizontal bar and pyramid effects byy the gymnasium boys, who were ably as-J sisted in their efforts by Messrs. and Kennedy. This concluded the firstf* part of the programme, and the stage* was cleared for the operetta, wtoicli wa,d| eagerly looked fbrward to by the audiis ence. The piece was styled "Inspector; for an Hour." The following is the ca?"# of characters: Major Twigg (an inspe&< tor), George Taylor; the Inspector's awi vant, Sidney Hintz; Mr. Fetcham (atrtt:'; ant officer), Sidney Lovell; Jinnie Stoutjj (a fat, lazy school girl), Emmie Hintsjij dunces and scholars were also scattered§jH aroundi in profusion. George Taylor waajß absent through illness, so his part wall™ taken by Mr. H. A. Stratford (hcadma&JM ter). The girls took their respectiveJH parts in a most creditable manner||9 Sidney Hintz was l also very good in role of servant. The choruses were ,ex-||H cellent, and reflected great credit, Potj|3| only on the children, but ateo on the,:!* teachers, who must have devoted nm<& JjH time to their coaching. Everything wens|aj off without a hitch, and the general verbis diet was that the whole affair was ftJ9 record success.
