The Matin emphasises the necessity of deepening the Seine from Paris to Rouen with a view to averting floods and converting Paris iuto a seaport. The Premier is considering the feasibility of some such scheme. Madrid, December 11.
Terrible storms Lave made the majority of the Spanish ports inaccessible. FloQds in many districts, particularly Castille, have caused many deaths. The lower part of Seville is flooded, and it is feared the whole district will be inundated.
Rome, December 11
A ferry boat crossing the Po, which was in flood, capsized, and twenty workmen were drowned.
