A father and son named Gouell were remanded on heavy baij on a charge of having a coining, plant in their possession in North Sydney. Along with the plant thirty-three spurious sovereigns were seized. During the last few months hundreds of pounds in spurious coins have been circulated, especially at race meetings at Melbourne and Sydney.
