'• ELIJAH." The production at Fending on Wednesday (Mr. Harold White conducting) was a great success, the audience, which was very enthusiastic, crowding every part of the house, and standing room was at a premium. As showing what good music will do. it might he mentioned that three ladies drove 35 miles to witness the oratorio, and returned after the performance. The soloists were nil in splendid voice, and captivated their hearers. It is pleasing to know that three of these soloists will be engaged here at the production on Wednesday next in the Theatre Royal, when the soloists will be Madame Hrige;s (Wanganiii) soprano. "Miss Uremia Stoek (Wellington) contralto, Mr. Will Ilutchens (Haw era) tenor, and Mr. A. doll (Wanganui) baritone. The whole will lie under the musical direction of Mr. CI. Herbert White, the leader of the orchestra toeing Mr. A. L. Cooke. The soloists will arrive on 'Monday and be fivsh for I a full rehearsal which will be held at the Theatre on Tticsdav niirht.
