Grown, cattle sold well, but the demand for young stock was'% trifle easier, Yearling steers'made £2 7 s Gd to £2 17s Gd, yearling heifefs (small) £2 14s, 15-months heifers £3 lfls to £3 15 s, 18 to 20-mon-ths heifers R.W.B. £3 10s Gd! to £4 Lis, store cows £3 l'ls to £4, forward do. £4 6s to £4 15s, fat cows £5 Is to £6 Is, springing heifers £3 15s to £G, springing; cows £4 2s 6d to £5 2s Gd, bulls £3 13s to" £4 2s Gd, hoggets (fat) 13s 9d. At Rah-otu on -Tuesday there was a full.yarding. Yearling heifers made £2 14s, 15 -to LB-months do. £3 lis tp £3 l;6s, store cows' £2 Ids to £'3 lis; forward do. £4 2s to £4 15s, springing heifers £5 7s Gd to £6 2s 6d, bulls £3 10s to £4 14s. On the same day I held a clearing sale at Waitara'rodd on'account of Mr. Jas. Campbell. There was a good attendance of buyers. The cows were a niceUot: and in good condition. Competition was keen and excellent prices were realised. Cows, springing and at profit; made £8 to £l4 10s, later do.' £4 10s to £7 10s, bull £9 IBs, calves 355, disc 'harrows £4, dray £l6 ss, store pigs 18s 6d; sundries as usual. MATTHEWS & BENNETT'S REPORT. ' Matthews and ■ Bennett report a good yarding of cattle at their Ingle wood yards on Wednesday last, and prices for all classes were good, especially for store cattle. Prices as follow:—Springing heifers £4 lis to £5 7s 6d, good do. £5 15s to £6 ss, springing cows £4 2s Gd to £4 15s, store cows £3 14s 6d to £4 7s, empty heifers £3 8s to £4 6s~6d, 15months steers £2 15s to £3 4s, bulls £3 Is to £5 15s, fat cows £5 3s.
STOCK MARKETS. JOHNSONVILLE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Jolinsonville sale as follqws:—We offered a heavy yarding of sheep and cattle, which sold at late rates. Good quality bullocks £8 15s to £8 17s Od, lighter £8 7s 6d to £8 10s, light £8 ss; prime wethers 16s 6d to 17s, plain ivethers 15s 6d, prime ewes 15s 7d, lighter 14s 5d to 14s 7d, plain 15s 6d, lambs (good) 1 12s Gd to 13s 6d, plain 10s to lis Gd. MASTERTON. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton stock sale as follows:—No s'heep were offered, the entry being confined solely to cattle, wlhieh came forward in excess of advertised numbers. Two or three pens of well-bred good-conditioned bullocks were offered, and met with keen competition, the whole yarding being disposed of under the hammer at prices in excess of vendors' expectations. We experienced an unsatisfied demand, and could -have disposed of a much larger yarding at satisfactory prices. Quotations:—Grown bullocks, in forward' condition, £7 2s to £7 ss, 3-year steers £5 l'ss to £5 17s Gd, 18-months to 2-year steers £3 7s to £3 19s, yearling steers £2 19s to £3 ss, fat cows £4 15s to £5 ss, store cows S3 5s to £4 ss, weaners 20s 6d to 3Ss 6d. ADDINGTON. At Addington live stock market there were good yardings of stock in most departments, and ti large attendance. Store slieep—Four-tooth wethers of medium quality made 10s to 12s, two-tooth wethers 8s 10dl to 12s Gd, four-tooth ewes 1-3s 3d, six-tooth 12s (kl,_f.m. 12s. aged ewes and lambs 5s !kl to 7s 7d (al counted), s.m. ewes in wool and lambs 9; od, hoggets to 12s Gd.
