Bates' ■weather summary and forecast: •*- The weather has been sultry in many parts, and rain has fallen m most districts of the South Island, and in places on the ' west coast of ttie North Island; Moderate rto strong northerly and westerly •winds have prevailed, and the barometer has fallen steadily, except in tie far south, where a slight rise took place in the night. Present indications are for »in and misty weather in most part 3 of the country, and thunderstorms in places. Variable northerly and westerly winds will probably prevail, and veer -to southerly for a short time. The barometer is unsteady, but will probably rise soon for a brief period.
