STRATFORD A. AND P. SHOW

Expectations in the matter of large entries for the above show were fully justified when the list was made up. No less than 1235 entries were (received and late entries have considerably augmented the list. The Tesult would be looked upon as a splendid record for an old established association, and for an association holding its initial show the entry list is .really something to be proud of, more so when it is remembered that the whole of the arrangements, for holding the show have been made in a very limited space of time. As was to be expected, the classes that have filled best are those in horses and cattle. Wonderfully good entries have been received in both these sections, while other classes have filled well. An army of workmen have been on the grounds for some weeks, and .everything will be in readiness for holding the show on Wednesday and Thursday next. A large attendance of the public is confidently looked forward to. Special trains at excursion rates will be run to Stratford. Visitors to the show may travel by the excursion train leaving New Plymouth at 10.50 a.m. for the Waitara races, this train coming right on to Stratford. Special trains will also run from Hawera and Te Wera. '
